The mausoleum of Moulay Idriss is located at the heart of its namesake. Revered for being the Prophet’s great-grandson and founder of the first Moroccan dynasty, it is the country’s pilgrimage site. A second attraction to the sleepy white-washed town, the Roman ruins of Voloubilis. Once a remote outpost of the Roman Empire, it is now a crumbly graveyard of stone estates beautiful mosaics incredibly intact.
